Working to explore pushing the boundary of time and art with Flli Domeniconi, an Italian designer clock maker since 1968, In this project, we explore a concept where a simple, organically shaped mirror with a central cavity is placed within an interior space. As the day progresses, each illuminated ring appears at the specific hour, culminating in the formation of twelve illuminated rings at midnight, resembling a three-dimensional tunnel leading into a void. The design conversation here is not to create a clock that indicates time accurately but to propose a dialogue that time is an endless passage. We are living in moments of passing through a tunnel of calculated minutes and seconds, a construct invented by human beings.
This concept also delves into the discussion between two and three-dimensional alterations, where humans have created the limitation of time through the observation of sunrise and sunset. Time is a three-dimensional void, unbounded by the concepts of life and death within the universe. The product itself is an artistic sculpture that immerses you in the passage of time, offering only a hint of the hourly moments preconceived by humans thousands of years ago.
