As requested by Siemens Germany, a multinational conglomerate specializing in the manufacturing of household consumer products, we were tasked with designing an exhibition pavilion to showcase their latest products in a unique and unconventional manner. At the time, the global smash hit movie "Inception" by Christopher Nolan had just been released in cinemas, and we drew inspiration from its folding cityscape. Recycled Styrofoam elements were placed within the lower parts of the pavilion, with each of Siemens' new products positioned like buildings in specific locations. Audiences could walk around these installations, while a curved mirror above the pavilion reflected the entire cityscape into an anti-gravitational distortion, allowing visitors to take photos of themselves surrounded by the city and products, and share them on social media.
Unlike typical commercial pavilions that merely showcase products, we aimed to create an experience where the products became artistic pieces. The dimensions and placements of the products were altered to create an anti-gravitational experience, enhancing social media sharing and marketing potential. As with all our designs, we draw inspiration from everything and anything, not just design itself. In this project, we sought to think outside the box, providing a collaborative branding opportunity with immense marketing potential through creativity and uniqueness.
